Each project can be configured to record its operations and status in the Audit DB.

  1. Open a Datical Project and select the Settings Tab

  2. Fill out the connection information to the AuditDB and click Test Connection to verify that everything was entered correctly.  We strongly recommend to use runtime credentials because it is more secure than stored credentials (due to the possibility of the stored password being decoded).

NOTE: When DB2 LUW is used for the Audit Database, the database definition is required to have automatic reorgs enabled. These reorgs will only apply to management of the Datical audit database and not to the application databases under management. Because Datical must occasionally perform these reorgs during management of the Audit Database schema we strongly recommend that you do not setup an AuditDB on the same system as the other databases that you are trying to manage with Datical.

  3. If the database is not already setup, Datical will load the base schema. Then Datical will register the project in the Audit DB.

    You see the following message:

The audit database AUDIT_DB was created. The project will be registered with the specified Audit DB.
