Each project can be configured to record its operations and status in the DMC DB.
- Open a Datical Project and select the Settings Tab
- Fill out the connection information to the DMC DB and click Test Connection to verify that everything was entered correctly. We strongly recommend to use runtime credentials because it is more secure than stored credentials (due to the possibility of the stored password being decoded).
NOTE: When DB2 LUW is used for the DMC Database, the database definition is required to have automatic reorgs enabled. These reorgs will only apply to management of the Datical DMC database and not to the application databases under management. Because Datical must occasionally perform these reorgs during management of the DMC Database schema we strongly recommend that you do not setup an DMC DB on the same system as the other databases that you are trying to manage with Datical. - If the database is not already setup, Datical will load the base schema. Then Datical will register the project in the DMC DB.
You see the following message:Code Block Saving project <project_name> The project has a unique ID in the local project file, but there is no corresponding Project entry in the DMC database
. Datical will create a new Project entry in the DMC database for this project. Saving project <project_name>
